“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.” (Colossians 1:15-18)

Christ is the creator of all things and not just one of God’s creatures. He is supreme. He is God incarnate (God in the flesh). In today’s world that is full of the self-sufficient mindset, we’re reminded that the universe is not self-sufficient or self-sustaining and neither are we not matter how much we try to pretend we are. All things are dependent upon Christ. Remember, if Christ is supreme, over all things, and able to hold all things together, then he can hold your life together, too. He can hold our sorrows and our pain. He can handle your guilt and shame. He can take care of your sins. If Christ is Lord of all, he can do this and so much more. Put your trust in Him. Praise be to the Living God!
