Transfiguration Sunday – Today is the last Sunday before Ash Wednesday (the beginning of Lent). Transfiguration Sunday is traditionally designed for celebrating the transfiguration of Jesus. In this glory we see a fuller representation of Jesus’ identity. Just as the transfiguration prepared Jesus for His passion and death, so our observance of His transfiguration prepares us for our Lenten journey in which we concentrate on His sufferings.
