Pastor Ken will be leading a class during family night beginning on September 11. It is intended for anyone of high school age or above. This would be a great class to help someone prepare for a public profession of their faith.
This class is designed to be a refresher course for veteran believers or an introductory course for newer Christians or inquiring individuals. It is meant to be a safe place to learn, ask lots of questions, and share spiritual journeys if one so desired. Older Christians will be inspired and challenged by younger ones, and newer Christians will learn and grow from the more experienced believers. Basic topics of the Christian faith, Bible study, Reformed spirituality (creeds and confessions), sacraments, meaning of church membership and much more will be covered throughout the year. All the while I envision individual spiritual life stories being shared for the purpose of building authentic community.
We’ll begin shortly after the family night meal is completed at 5:30pm and finish for the evening by 7pm. Please sign up at the back table if you plan to attend.
The National Day of Prayer tradition predates the founding of the United States of America, evidenced by the Continental Congress’ proclamation in 1775 setting aside a day of prayer. In 1952, Congress established an annual day of prayer and, in 1988, that law was amended, designating the National Day of Prayer as the first Thursday in May.
The 60th Annual National Day of Prayer will take place Thursday, May 5, 2011. Millions will unite in prayer at thousands of events from coast to coast. The theme, “A Mighty Fortress is Our God”, is based on the verse from Psalm 91:2 which states: “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
All are invited to an informal gathering for prayer and song at Fellowship Church this evening at 7pm.
Please join us as we celebrate Easter with a delicious breakfast before the service April 24. The breakfast will be served from 9-10:15 a.m. If you would like to help provide food for the breakfast, the Fellowship Committee & Youth Group would greatly appreciate it. The sign-up sheet is on the back table. We will continue our celebration at 10:30 with a worship service led by Pastor Ken.
An all you can eat ‘breakfast’ dinner will be served April 14, 2011 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. with a suggested donation of $3/adult and $2 child. Please sign up at the back table if you plan to come to the dinner. Following the dinner the derby car races will start at 7 p.m.
